Jenny Read Stout (She/Her) is a visual artist based in the Pacific Northwest. Jenny enjoys teaching people of all ages, and believes that an individual’s life experience informs their approach to creative problem solving. She believes everyone is capable of creating art, and that improvement comes with practice and gentle encouragement. Her aim is to help students navigate the learning process with ease and humor.
Jenny’s own art explores themes of memory, place, and personal history. She expresses this through place-based narrative drawing using ink, watercolor, and textiles. Her research interests also include the impacts of colonialism in the Americas on the botanical world as reflected in visual culture.
She holds a BA in Art with Emphasis in Painting and Printmaking from San Diego State University, an MAT in Museum Education from The George Washington University,聽 and is currently an MFA student in Visual Arts at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts (expected 2027).
