“Still Life Unhinged” Supply List
For this class, we will start our paintings with collage.聽 I will share materials for making collage papers as well as collections of objects to inspire your paintings. I am calling these collections “Concept In A Can” and I can’t wait to show you what that is. But, I am still making them. 馃檪聽 I will post a picture here when I have it. For now, you can get ready with the following supplies.
I have included links to Blick for examples but you can get these things at local stores like Artist & Craftsman (SE Powell, or N Lombard), Art Supply Center (SE Foster) and Columbia Art & Drafting (E Burnside), sometimes SCRAP

Bring to Each Class聽
- Any recycled paper you wish to print聽聽(ideas: junk mail, catalogs, newspaper, it鈥檚 all going to get covered in paint!)
- Speaking of covered in paint, you will want a huge shirt or apron to cover yourself during class. 馃檪
- Painting Surfaces -8×10 or 16×20 will work in the classroom. Surfaces can be mixed media paper, canvas boards, cardboard scraps, fancy gallery wrapped canvas or even found wood. Choose something that makes you feel the least pressure to be perfect but will hold up to paint, glue and water.聽
- Mixed Media Pad – 5×7 or up to 16×20

Acrylic paints – Heavy Body聽
I recommend a 4 oz tube or larger of the following:聽聽
- Cadmium Yellow Light or similar聽
- Yellow ochre聽
- Cadmium Red Light or similar聽
- Quinacridone magenta聽
- Pthalo or Prussian Blue (any shade of pthalo is fine)聽
- Raw umber聽
- Titanium White聽
- permanent violet dark or similar
A Basic set of paint brushes – brushes are personal. So, get what you think you want to use or try, does not have to be a proper brush either, bring anything you think will make a mark!聽
