Details about this class

Students are highly recommended to take SPA 101 and SPA 111C simultaneously.

SPA 101 is a four-credit course that meets twice a week for 2 hrs.

SPA 111C is a one-credit conversation course that meets twice a week for 25 minutes (50 min/week).

SPA 101, CRN 40367, that you see recommended in the course notes, is taught by the same instructor as this conversation section, and it occurs right after this conversation class. If the SPA 101 class that you have decided to take doesn’t have a specific conversation section suggested in the Course Notes, you are welcome to take any 111C that fits your schedule.

Why should I take SPA 111C? In the conversation class,  you will have an opportunity to practice what you are learning in SPA 101. You will be working on your listening and speaking skills with classmates, with your instructor’s guidance and support. Students who don’t take 111C will have 10 hours less of practice of the Spanish language than the classmates who take 111C. 101 + 111C is the perfect combination to develop your aural and oral communicative skills, and communication is the main goal of our SPA program.
