Details about this class
This course will introduce you to the different components of the Earth System and how they interact across space and time. I will emphasize helping you develop important skills and preparing you for future General Science courses like Astronomy and Meteorology. That's why this GS 106 course can now satisfy the math pre-requisite requirements for GS and a number of Geology classes (see class catalog for the details).
Attendance and participation in this fully in-person lab science class is essential for student success. I encourage students to bring a laptop or tablet to class, if they have one, especially on lab days. We also have a classroom set of laptops that any student can use if they are not able to bring one with them. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns before the term begins.
Please also note the optional field trip. More details to come in class!
Technology
There is no additional technology required for this class.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
