Legal Assistant, Career Pathway certificate

The Legal Assistant Career Pathway certificate is a 35-credit certificate program. It includes 29 hours of required courses and 6 credit hours of elective Paralegal courses. Admission into the Career Pathway certificate requires completion of an application by the term deadline. Students are admitted in fall, winter, and spring terms.

Students must maintain a 鈥淐鈥 average in all required courses to complete their certificate.

Paralegals may not practice law and may not provide legal services directly to the public except as permitted by law.

Paralegal program students must complete聽14 quarter credit hours of synchronous聽instruction. Synchronous instruction means students must attend a scheduled class meeting time each week. This restriction is not applicable to Legal Assistant students.
