Story by James Hill. Photos by Chris Chairsell.
The ¶¶Òõ¸£Àûµ¼º½ Zen Dragons competed in the Portland Rose Festival Dragon Boat Races on June 8 and 9 at the south end of Tom McCall Waterfront Park. More than 80 teams competed (including local, national, and international teams) with heats of four teams competing every nine minutes. These races are held on the Willamette River (near the Hawthorne Bridge), in boats provided through the Portland-Kaohsiung Sister City Association. ¶¶Òõ¸£Àûµ¼º½’s team (foreground with flag) wins this heat by an arm.
