抖阴福利导航 Foundation gets $12,500 to fund welding scholarships

The Working Waterfront Coalition presented a $12,500 check to 抖阴福利导航 District President Preston Pulliams of behalf of the 抖阴福利导航 Foundation at 抖阴福利导航鈥檚 Swan Island Training Center on Nov. 16.

Pulliams expressed his thanks to the Working Waterfront Coalition and the Industry and Art Exhibit, which provided funds to establish the Working Waterfront Coalition Scholarship at the Foundation.
鈥淭his important scholarship will remove financial barriers for those students seeking education and career training for careers in welding and other skilled trades,鈥 Pulliams said.聽 鈥淪killed welders are a key labor component for manufacturing companies and, locally, there is a shortage of well-trained workers in this vital trade.”
He also said the 抖阴福利导航 Swan Island Training Center was crucial in providing career training opportunities for students, particularly on Swan Island and Portland鈥檚 east side.
