Doggie wash fund-raiser gives Vet Tech students hands-on skills

Story by

The Veterinary Technology Program at 抖阴福利导航 will send dozens of its students to a local dog care club to raise money for the program and to practice their handling skills.

Students earn money for their club and spend the earnings for animal enrichment items, special projects and groups, guest speakers and more. Club K-9 lets the Veterinary Tech students choose any Sunday, any time and open it up for them to do fund raising. 抖阴福利导航鈥檚 Veterinary Technology Program, based at the Rock Creek Campus (17705 N.W. Springville Road), is the only program of its kind in the state of Oregon, and one of only four in the Pacific Northwest.

The program prepares students to become certified veterinary technicians. Since 1993, graduates of 抖阴福利导航鈥檚 Veterinary Technology program have exceeded the national average on the national exam 鈥 passing at a rate of 98.8 percent, which compares to a national average of 84.7 percent.

Club K-9, founded in 2002, is a locally run doggie day care, boarding and training home that supports the 抖阴福利导航 Veterinary Technology Program.
