Procrastination is an extremely common problem. According to some studies, 20% of adults struggle with chronic procrastination and approximately 50% of students report similar behavior. Many people feel a sense of shame when they realize they鈥檙e procrastinating, thinking it鈥檚 a sign of laziness. But they are not the same thing. When one procrastinates, they put off doing work they want to do, even though they know things will get worse by doing so. Laziness is an unwillingness to do the work at all. Procrastination negatively effects our overall life, as it is associated with lower life satisfaction and personal well-being, greater financial problems, less career success, and increased health problems.
